Trooper May is due to be buried today; Funeral procession, funeral details


LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Micah May is buried Thursday after he was killed on duty. will have a live stream of Trooper May’s procession and funeral starting at 9:30 am

He died last week after being hit by a suspected car theft during a chaotic car chase on I-15 on July 27. Part of May’s funeral procession will take place on I-15 South, where May spent his final moments.

The 46-year-old soldier was married and the father of two young children. He was a 13 year veteran with NHP. His wife Joanna said, “He loved his job and he loved being a state trooper.”

His funeral procession will begin around 9:30 a.m. when he leaves Palm Mortuary on North Main Street in downtown Las Vegas. There will be temporary road closures along the processional route.

The funeral service for Trooper May begins at 11:00 a.m. and is expected to last until 1:00 p.m. Immediately after the funeral, there is a second procession to the Palm Eastern Mortuary & Cemetery, where Trooper May will be buried around 2:00 p.m.
