Thomas Louis Logan, Sr. | obituaries






Thomas Louis Logan, Sr. died on Saturday October 29, 2022 at the age of 89. He was born on July 11, 1933 in Binghamton, NY to Joseph W. Logan and Celia Lia Logan.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Melba Harrell Logan, with whom he was 59; his children Kama Logan and Patrick Logan (Kelly); grandchildren Cassidy Palmisano (Jake), Ashley Fischer, Nate and Emily Logan; great-granddaughters, Mia and Murphy Palmisano; and his brother Jerry Logan. He was preceded in death by his son Thomas “Tommy” Logan Jr., his parents, 1 brother and 5 sisters.

Tom proudly served 4 years in the Navy as a weather forecaster in the Panama Canal Zone during the Korean War. He received degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Mathematics summa cum laude from the University of Houston and achieved success and respect in the oil and gas industry, having worked for Shell, Damson Oil and Superior Oil before opening an oil and gas consulting firm , L&A Energy, in The Woodlands, TX.

Known for his dry sense of humor, Tom was a loving, compassionate and caring person to everyone. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing outdoors. However, his true passion was spending time with his family and friends. Unique and irreplaceable, highly respected and loved, Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family would like to thank the staff at Restoration Senior Living and Foundation Hospice for their loving care and kindness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Covington Presbyterian Church, 222 S Jefferson Ave., Covington, LA, with the visit beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be held privately at Southeast Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
