Thomas “Tom” C. Bergmann of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., died peacefully on March 19, 2022 at the McGraw Center for Caring Hospice with his loving wife Laura by his side. Tom was born on April 13, 1943 in Lake City, Florida to Harold and Frances Bergmann.

Tom graduated from Columbia High School, class of ’61, where he studied hard, played football, basketball, baseball, track and field, and served as student council president during his senior year. Tom was an intelligent, hard-working, gentle man who graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree (with honors – Beta Gamma Sigma and Alpha PSI) in 1965 with a major in Accounting.

Tom’s quiet, successful and rewarding long professional career began as a CPA at Coopers & Lybrand (an international CPA firm). In 1972 he became vice president and secretary of Barnett Winston Company (REIT) and its affiliates. From 1978 until his retirement, Tom was executive vice president and partner of Stokes & Company and all its affiliates.

A quiet man of few words, it’s hard to tell which of Tom’s many interests he enjoyed most… just being at home, walking on the beach with Laura, being with friends and family, playing golf with lots of friends , especially with Don and Rob, motorcycles, auto racing (IMSA, NASCAR, Formula 1) or travel. He and Laura treasured the memories of many occasions of extended blissful travels together throughout the United States and many foreign lands while marveling at the beauty and blessings of God’s creations.

“So much to say, so little space – In loving thoughts we often reach beyond the limits of words.”

A life well lived – many of you reading this now have been a part of it… Thank you.
