Sharlotta Wyvon Wilson

Sharlotta Wyvon Wilson, 81, of Farmington, died Monday, February 28, 2022 at WVU Medicine Fairmont Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Clarksburg on April 27, 1940; the daughter of the late Coble Smallwood and Kathleen (Brown) Smallwood. Sharlotta was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army National Guard for 20 years. She was Head Nurse for 6 years and ministered in Honduras for 6 months. Sharlotta was also a registered nurse for Marietta Memorial Hospital and retired after 24 years of service. Sharlotta is survived by her 32-year-old husband Donald Lee Wilson of Farmington, WV; their sons Bob Wilson of Bellview, David Wilson and his wife Rhonda of Palmetto, Fla., and Donald Wilson, Jr. of Baxter; her daughters, Kathy Bloomingdale of Marietta, Ohio, Tammy Hill and husband John of Marietta, and Susie Hamrick and husband Freddy of Rivesville; her grandchildren, Tabitha Davis and her husband, Todd, John Hill and his wife, Christina, Timothy Hill, Eric Bloomingdale, Tori Bloomingdale and her partner, Jason, Alli Bloomingdale and her partner, Cameron, Cortney Wilson and her partner, Carlos, Christopher Wilson, James Wilson, Kasondra Jones, Bobby Wilson and Zackery Wilson; her great-grandchildren Ashton, Kayla, Faith, Peyton, Carson, Alaina, and Aiden; her brother James Smallwood and his wife Libby of Folsom, her sister Ruth Schneider and his husband Chris of Warsaw, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Sharlotta was preceded in death by her brother Alton Smallwood. Family and friends are invited to the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. Fairmont to call the 1:00 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home, led by evangelist Craig Matheny. The burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be performed by the Marion County Veterans Council Military Honor Guard.
