There is plenty to do in and around the district this weekend; Two Mr. Ps in One Podcast, Northern Live, Bowlee Car Boot Sale, Oulder Hill School Reunion, Comedy Night at The Flyer, Rochdale Hornets v Hurricanes, Walk Like a Man, Alpine Flower Show and Plant Sales, Rochdale Rocks for Ukraine, Beryl, Eid Party, Green Network Forum, Rochdale Ramblers – Saturday Walks, Rochdale Walton Angling Society Open Day, Falinge Park Community Hub Open Day, Heaton Hall Tours – Open Day, Six Week Walking Group, Tropical Fish Auction, Dr Anthony Crook Memorial Cricket Match, Covid-19 vaccine clinics and exhibitions.

Open house at the Fireground Museum – Fireground, Maclure Road
Open from 10am to 4pm on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th May

On display are Fire Museum attractions including historical and modern artefacts.

beryl – Oldham Coliseum, Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th May

A play based on Beryl who later became the tallest woman on two wheels.

Gallery exhibition: mixed media and textiles – Littleborough Coach House, Saturday 7 May 10am – 3pm & Sunday 8 May 11:30am – 2:30pm

This exhibition consists of Ruth Bristow – Mixed Media, Phoenix Textiles – Textiles.

Exhibition: The Football Art Prize – Touchstones Rochdale, Friday 6th to Sunday 8th May, open Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm, Sunday from 10am to 4pm

To mark World Cup 2022, Touchstones created the Football Art Prize to celebrate art and football.

Exhibition: Whose Voice? – Touchstones Rochdale, Friday 6th to Sunday 8th May, open Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm, Sunday from 10am to 4pm

whose voice? examines the role that museums, art galleries and public spaces play in contemporary society.

Covid-19 vaccine clinics

There are a number of vaccination clinics at various locations in the district. Neither clinic requires an appointment, but those booked elsewhere should stick to their existing appointments.

Two Mr. P. on a podcast – Middleton Arena, 7:30 p.m

Two Mr. P. will share funny stories from the frontline of teaching.

Northern Soul Show.

School reunion at Older Hill – The Royal Toby Hotel, 19:00 – 00:00

A reunion of students from Oulder Hill Upper School who graduated from high school in 1975, 1976 and 1977.

comedy night – The Flying Horse Hotel, 8.30 p.m

Ace Lips events bring you another night of comedy at the Flying Horse.

Betfred League 1 game.

Walk like a man – Middleton Arena, 7:30 p.m

Walk Like a Man takes you back to 1962.

Alpine flower show and plant sale – 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m

A national alpine flower show with 140 classes.

Rochdale Rocks for Ukraine – Rochdale Ukrainian Club, 2.30 p.m

Benefit rock night for the victims in Ukraine.

eid party – Rochdale Pioneers Museum, 12pm – 3pm

Complimentary first come, first served community picnic for local families to mark the festive season after Ramadan.

Green Network Forum – Falinge Park Community Hub, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m

Community gardening, garbage collection or other environmental projects.

Rochdale Ramblers – Saturday Walks – Starts at 10:00 am at the bus station in Todmorden town centre

“A Todmorden Trek”.

Rochdale Walton Angling Society open house – Healey Dell Conservation Area, 10:00am – 3:30pm

An open house where everyone can participate and try fishing.

Falinge Park Community Hub Open House – Falinge Park Community Hub, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m

Bowlee Flea Market and Market – Bowlee Community Park, 6:00 a.m. for vendors, 7:00 a.m. for the public – 1:30 p.m

Bowlee Car Boot Sale & Market – one of the largest in Greater Manchester.

Heaton Hall tours – Open House – Heaton Hall, 12pm – 4pm

Friends of Heaton Park hold free tours of the hall monthly.

Six-week hiking group — Cowm Reservoir, 1 p.m

The distance for this hike is 1.5 miles.

Tropical Fish Auction – Littleborough Conservative Club, starting at 1pm

Greater Manchester Cichlid Society open fish auction and all water.

dr Anthony Crook Memorial Cricket Match – Thornham Cricket Club, 1pm

A commemorative match between Captain’s Select XI and Chairman’s Select XI.
