Rep. Hunschofsky files Home Bill recognizing Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Memorial Day

MP Christine Hunschofsky
State deputy Christine Hunschofsky

From MP Christine Hunschofsky:

No matter how much time passes, February 14, the day of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, will always be a day that profoundly affects our community.

While most people in other parts of the country have moved on, we continue to work to move forward while respectfully acknowledging the incredible loss, pain and trauma that has afflicted so many in our community.

We will never forget the 17 who lost their lives that day – Alyssa Alhadeff, Scott Biegel, Martin Duque, Nicholas Dworet, Aaron Feis, Jaime Guttenberg, Chris Hixon, Luke Hoyer, Cara Loughran, Gina Montalto, Joaquin Oliver, Alaina Petty, Meadow Pollack, Helena Ramsay, Alex Schachter, Carmen Schentrup, and Peter Wang. Each of these people left behind grieving family members and friends. For those who have lost loved ones, every day is difficult and February 14th will be especially difficult.

In addition to those who were kidnapped, we also remember the 17 people who were physically injured on February 14 and the hundreds more who were traumatized. Everyone living in our community that day was affected in some way, and many of the emotions from that day may surface again as we approach four years of age.
