January 22, 1940 – November 17, 2021

Peggy “Arlene” Webb, 81, of Hickory passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born on January 22, 1940 in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late James Hurley Belton and Glady Waller Belton. She was the third of 13 children.

Arlene has worked in various textile companies for over 40 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great mom!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Don Belton, Dean Belton, Hurley Belton, Michael Belton, Harry Belton, Richard Belton and Mark Belton; Sisters Carolyn Belton and Barbara Whisnant; and son-in-law Frank Stikeleather.

Those who keep her memories are her 36-year-old husband Bruce Webb; Daughter Rhonda Stichleder; Son, David Prewitt; Brothers Bobby Belton and Mrs. Dora, Johnny Belton and Mrs. Wanda and Raymond Belton; and grandson, Josh Stikeleather and wife, Ashley, Kaitlyn Prewitt and fiance, Brett Spencer, Morgan Greene and husband, Jamie, Heather Haynes and husband, Seth and Chelsea Belton. Also surviving are stepchildren, David Webb and Jennifer Webb Childers and their children; Great-grandchildren, Xander, Cole, Ellie, Nolan, Paisley, and Hailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Arlene’s life and love will be held in the Heritage Funeral Service chapel in Valdese on Sunday 21 November at 3pm under the direction of Rev. David Stikeleather. The funeral will follow at the Zion Memorial Methodist Church at 1705 Zion Road. in Morganton. The family welcomes friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Service.
