Obituary of Kenneth Miriello (1944 – 2022) – Monongahela, PA

Kenneth “Archie” Arthur Miriello, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday February 8, 2022 at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital after battling COVID-19 for the past year.

Kenneth is from Swissvale and has lived and raised a family in Monongahela for the past 50 years.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Mary Baumann Miriello, whom he has loved for 50 years. He was the proud father of three daughters, Lanette (Terry) Ashcraft and Laura (Bob) Manko, all from Finleyville; and Tina Ivory of Monongahela.

Kenneth was a grandfather to five children, Gregory Jr., Gage and Gavin Ivory, Nathan and Trista Manko. He also had the blessing of being a great-grandfather to two boys, Bryson and Jayson Ivory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his son-in-law Gregory Ivory, who died on July 19, 2001; and six brothers.

Kenneth was born in Braddock on May 11, 1944 to Francisco and Cecilia Weis Miriello and was the youngest of seven boys in his family.

He worked at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh for 42 years.

Ken was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan who loved cheering for them every Sunday in the fall.

Ken was known for having a beautiful personality and a smile that would light up a room.

Even though a weak heart led him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon for everyone in his life.

Family and friends will be welcomed Friday, February 11, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 W. Main Street, Monongahela, where a 7 p.m. funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Jude Urso.

The family is asking for memorial donations to help fund the funeral.
