The funeral service for Jonathan Stanford, 70, of Opelika, AL will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bridge Church of Alabama, 315 2nd Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801 with burial at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Ft. Mitchell, AL 36856, Pastor Terrance Nolan will officiate.
Mr. Stanford, who died Sunday, January 30, 2022 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL, was born March 5, 1951 in Wayne, Michigan.
Public viewing takes place on Sunday, February 13, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (face mask required)
Mr. Stanford will be resting at church one day before the service.

Stanford, both of Opelika, AL, Antonio Griffin of Tampa, FL, and Brittany Harrison of LaFayette, AL; five grandchildren, LaCarlvious “Scooter” Williams, Journie Williams, Patrice Palmer, Darion Stanford, all of Opelika, AL, and Kamariuan Tibbs of LaFayette, AL; four sisters, Charlene Taylor from Gary, IN, Deborah Baker, Claudine (Tommie) Jackson and Sylvania (Roger) Moffett, all from Phenix City, AL; three brothers, Larry James (Bobbie) Cooper from Jeffersonville, IN, Robert Lewis (Ruby) Cooper and Matthew Cooper, both from Phenix City, AL; two aunts Virginia Carter and Mary Nell Kendrick of Phenix City, AL; three brothers-in-law, retired Master Sergeant Robert Thomas of Columbus, GA, Fred (Thelma) Thomas, Jr. of Clayton, AL, and Willie (Angela) Thomas of Opelika, AL; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Maddox and Shirley Allen, both from Opelika, AL; a lot of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
