As received from the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel:

Nancy L. (Collins) Everson, 82, of L’Anse, MI, held hands with her daughter, Deanna (Everson) Lindstrom, breathed her last breath in this Bayside world at 1:30 a.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022 Village, L’Anse, where she has lived since 2014. Her son Mike was by her side for most of the day, and Nancy’s closest family members were also able to say goodbye earlier in the day. Nancy endured a long illness with Alzheimer’s disease, which sadly took away much of the joy from her and her family for many years before her body succumbed to it.
Nancy was born on July 10, 1939 in L’Anse, MI, the second of nine children to the late Homer and Dorothy (Glover) Collins. Nancy graduated from L’Anse High School in 1957. She married the late Ronald Everson on June 25, 1958 in L’Anse. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2015. Nancy was employed at Baraga County Memorial Hospital in L’Anse as a kitchen hand and around the house until her retirement in 2000. Nancy happily chose to retire, doing Gramma/Nanny for the last ‘little’ grandchildren Kelsey for six years and to be Nicholas. She was so excited about her “new job”.
Nancy’s greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. She rarely missed any of her sporting events. She was a truly selfless person with a heart of gold and was always there when someone needed her. Nancy was a quiet soul and enjoyed many things that did not require her to leave the comfort of her home, such as gardening; Her favorite flowers are her dahlias, knitting, crocheting and baking. She was known for her wonderful white and rye breads. For many years, Nancy knew the unconditional love of her fur baby Yorkshire Terrier Tyson, who was her daily companion and lap companion.
Nancy leaves behind her loving children Ronald Michael Everson (Mike) and his wife Rose and Deanna Lindstrom and her husband Mark, L’Anse, grandchildren, Kaley, Sheena, Whitney, Cassidy, Kelsey, Nick, Cheyanne and Brendan, great grandchildren Adelyn, Eden , Mason, Averie, Oakley and Ronan, Brother Scott (Cindy) Collins from L’Anse, Sisters Luci (Dan) Dupras from Crystal Falls, MI, Christine (Joe) Brazeau from L’Anse, Geri Seavoy from L’Anse, Patti VanAbel (Bob Hollon) from L’Anse and Laurie Collins from Oregon and sister-in-law Mona Collins from Skanee. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ronald Everson, son Rory Everson in 2015, brother Homer (Smokey) Collins and sister Sandy Hansen.
The funeral will be held at 7pm on Friday 4 March 2022 at the Reid Funeral Service and Chapel, L’Anse, conducted by Rev. John Ansell. The family will greet friends in the funeral chapel on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral service.
