Obituary for Samir Sain (1947 – 11/04/2021) – Acme, PA


Samir (Sam) K. Sain, MS, PE, 73 from Acme passed away on Thursday November 4th, 2021 at Excela Health Frick Hospital. Samir was born on November 17, 1947 in Calcutta to Amar Nath and Menoka Sain. He graduated from Calcutta University and Carnegie Mellon University and earned a Masters of Science degree in civil engineering. Sam started his own company called AEC in 1981, which specializes in developing water purification systems. Later in his career, he rose to prominence in the home inspection business, specializing in civil engineering, and was a member of the professional home inspection organization ASHI. He enjoyed and engaged in PA West Soccer as the referee and organizer of the organization. As a philanthropist, he contributed to a charity that provided soccer equipment to children in South America. He also volunteered at the local Special Olympics. He was very generous and donated financially to the people of Calcutta on behalf of his mother to support the Covid-19 aid. He lived and supported the Bear Rocks Community and was a long-time member of the Bear Rocks Community Club. Instead of flowers or cards, the family is collecting donations for the late SMT Menoka Sain Social Welfare Project. This project provides food and Covid aid to the poor in India. Pleasant and Tia Sain, from Acme; Brothers, Sukumar and Subhas Sain; and a sister, Bulu Rani Acharya Chaudhuri. In addition to his parents, Samir was preceded in death by the brothers Mihir and Ashish Sain.
