Nancy C. Boucher, 69, of Lowville, NY, passed away peacefully early Friday, June 17, 2022 with her loving husband Mark by her side.

Nancy was born in Lowville on July 30, 1952 to the late John R. and the late Betty L. (Payne) Schieder. She was predeceased by her brother John in 1977. She married Mark F. Boucher on March 2, 1972.

Nancy graduated from LACS and the Central Business Institute for Business and Accounting. After completing her education, Nancy worked as an accountant for her father, Dr. John R. Schieder in his dental practice. She found joy in being hostess at Greystone Manor for many years and eventually retired from the accounts department of Lewis County General Hospital.

Nancy’s hobbies included landscaping, gardening, bird watching and cooking. She really enjoyed hanging out with the “Elks crew” and taking trips to Boston with them and her husband Mark. Most importantly, she adored her family and loved spending time with them, especially her only grandson, Leo. As the eldest sibling, she took pride in guiding her three younger brothers through life’s many pitfalls and guiding them successfully into their distinguished adulthood.

She is survived by her 50-year-old husband Mark, their son Erik (Wendie) Boucher; her grandson Leo Boucher; her two brothers James (Jackie) Schieder; Andrew (Mary Beth) Schieder; in-laws, Kevin (Deb) Kent; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy chose to donate her mortal remains to the SUNY Upstate for scientific study, hoping to help others in death as she attempted in life.

A memorial service with Evan Zehr will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 22 at First Presbyterian Church in Lowville. A reception follows at the Lowville Elks Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice to commemorate Nancy Boucher.

Her condolences can be expressed online at www.sundquistfh.com.

Nancy was very caring and loving towards those who had the opportunity to meet her and her spirit, laughter and energy will truly be missed by all.
