Ministry Brands publishes survey data revealing the role technology plays in the church during the pandemic and beyond

Live streaming, websites, and online giving platforms rank the most important

LENOIR CITY, Tenn., August 10, 2021 / PRNewswire / – New survey results released today by Ministry Brands, the leading provider of software, services and information platforms for churches, offices and ministries, reports that 95 percent of church leaders say they rely on digital tools and church software left from before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Almost 70 percent of those surveyed state that their use has increased significantly.

This digital transformation of church life is examined in The cornerstones of post-pandemic church technology E-book, a summary of the latest poll results from 1,200 church leaders across the country in April and May 2021.

According to these survey results, the top three tools are live streaming, websites, and online donation platforms as companies continue to recover and rebuild from the pandemic. These results are consistent across churches of all sizes. Additional findings are:

  • Nine in ten churches say live streaming will continue to be an important tool going forward, and 51 percent report that they introduced this service as a member retention tool during the pandemic.

  • The Church Management System (ChMS) integrability is one of the most important features churches are looking for in online donation platforms to make it easier to manage this growing trend.

  • A strong internet presence is seen as essential by churches today. Nine in ten respondents said websites are important in reshaping church life after the pandemic.
