WELLSVILLE – Mickey M. Gibbs of Wellsville, Ohio died on Thursday November 18, 2021 in her home in the arms of her loving husband and son.
Mildred (Mickey) M. Pletcher was born on October 26, 1935 in Roseville, Ohio, to Clarence FW Pletcher and Irene Riley Pletcher. Mickey grew up in a foster family in Wellsville, Ohio.
Mickey attended Wellsville schools and was a member of the Wellsville High School class in 1953. She worked in local pottery for over 40 years, most of those years with TS&T (Taylor, Smith & Taylor – Anchor Hocking) and The Homer Laughlin China companies, where she retired in 2005.
Mickey loved being at home, decorating her house, working with flowers, bird watching, and she had a great love for animals. She especially loved her little Boston terrier Maggie Mae, who passed away earlier this year.
Most of all, Mickey loved her family and felt blessed to spend so much time with two of her childhood granddaughters, Ashley Clendenning Allmon and Brittany Clendenning, who named her MeMe. She also felt especially blessed to be the mother of her son Zachary Allen Gibbs again.
In memory of Mickey, her husband Scott A. Gibbs, whom she married on December 5, 1998, is remembered. They were lucky enough to spend the last 22 years together and share a great love and friendship. Her children, Anita (David) Kornbau from Washingtonville, Ohio, David Angellone from Wellsville, Ohio, Carolyn Keller from Phoenix, Arizona, Michelle (Matt) Rawson from Wellsville, Ohio, and Zachary Gibbs at home. Grandsons, Jennifer (Eric) Sevenich, Andrew (Kassandra) Kornbau, Autumn (Corey) Woods, Anthony (Holli) Angellone, Emilee Angellone, David (Shayla) Angellone, RC Keller, Ashley (Donato) Allmon, Brittany Clendenning and Matthew Rawson. and 11 great-grandchildren. Mickey also preceded a granddaughter, Shasta Keller, in death. Mickey leaves behind a sister, Hazel French.
Mickey is also sorely missed by her mother-in-law Shirley Gibbs, her sisters and brothers, Cindy and Ron Woodyard, Gary and Cindy Gibbs and Libby and Wilbert Bonnick, as well as their nieces, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to Angels for Animals at 4750 S. Range, Canfield, Ohio 44406 on behalf of Mickey.
The viewing will take place on Sunday, December 12, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists-Martin Chapel in Calcutta. The funeral service with Pastor Dirk Hall follows at 1 p.m.
