In this weekly feature for MMO I will look back at last week’s games and share some interesting data and information that I have collected through various websites such as: baseball reference, FanGraphsand baseball scholar. It will be a mix of facts, statistics, analysis and general analysis.

Let’s move on to the seven days between May 22nd and May 28th

Sunday 22 May 2022

Mets versus Rockies

Taijuan Walker threw seven scoreless innings against the Colorado Rockies on the road in the Mets’ 2-0 win in the rubber game of their series. Walker became the fourth Mets pitcher to pitch and close at least seven scoreless innings against the Rockies on the road Peter Harnish (21.7.1995), Mike Pelfrey (04/15/2010) and Markus Stroman (09/17/2019).

Taijuan Walker recorded 30 called strikes + whiffs during his game against the Rockies. That’s a game high for Walker this season.
