The Land of the Lost Return
Have you ever wondered where your online returns end up? Sometimes they can be resold, but often retailers like Amazon will sell random items in bulk to the highest bidder. Various websites will auction these boxes with very little detail about the contents. It’s a dice roll, but buyers could see a huge payout.
YouTuber Safiya Nygaard did this a few years ago and broke down whether the items worked and broke down each item’s MSRP. Some items were in great condition, others were missing parts or were very clearly used.
Well, as fun and adventurous as that sounds, I personally don’t have the money for such things. Recently Safiya ventured into a “garbage shop” and maybe that’s my age but it looked absolutely exciting. These stores feature items from places like Amazon, Target, JC Penny, and more
For those who can’t afford their own personal Random Box and/or want more control over their purchases, there are Bin Stores. In junk stores, many returned items from online retailers are sold one last time. Functionality is pretty neat. On the day they replenished their stocks, the prices for the items are at their highest, but still very cheap. And every item has a price. Each day after that is a dollar less until the last day of $1.
After seeing the video above I was dying to go to one but assumed there isn’t one here or I would have heard about it by now right? NOT CORRECTapparently.
In Scarborough, Buck Luck – The Bin Store is just off Route 1 behind Lucky Garden Chinese Restaurant. As you can see below, The Bin Store is restocked on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

I’m already planning my adventure. No plan once I get there just looking for the rush of plenty.
