Covid vaccines, boosters and tests
The Mendocino Coast Clinics offer drive-through vaccination clinics for everyone ages 12 and older every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the White Tent at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg. No appointment is required. First dose, second dose and boosters are all available. Booster shots are now available for children ages 12 to 18 if it has been at least 5 months since their second dose of Pfizer or at least two months since they were given the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Parental consent is required for people under the age of 18 to receive a vaccine.
Vaccines are available by appointment for children aged 5 to 11 years. Call Mendocino Coast Clinics at (707) 964-1251 or (707) 964-5696 to schedule your child.
Surveillance tests for people without COVID symptoms are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. No appointment is required. These tests are sent to a central lab for processing, so testing must be completed by 1:00 am sharp to meet Fed Ex deadlines. Results are typically available approximately 72 to 96 hours after the lab receives the tests. If you have COVID symptoms, please call Mendocino Coast Clinics at (707) 964-1251 to schedule a symptomatic test. Please do not come too early to test and vaccination events and follow the traffic signs and instructions. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
The Adventist Health team has Moderna and J&J vaccines, all of which are available through the Primary Care team at 721 River Dr., Suite A in Fort Bragg. To schedule an appointment, call the Adventist Health offices at 707-961-4631 and press option 3 to schedule a time and date when you can receive your appointment.
Fort Bragg Girls Softball Association
Registration for Fort Bragg Girls Softball for ages 4 through 8th graders – Tball, Minors and Juniors Divisions – is now open. Registration is open from January 1st to March 4th, with underage assessments and drafts taking place on March 5th. Practice begins the week of March 7th and opening day is April 2nd. The season ends before Memorial Day weekend. Registration forms can be picked up at any time at Farmers Insurance on Main Street or at the CV Starr Community Center and paid for at PO Box 154 in Fort Bragg. In person registration Saturday, February 12, 11:00-13:00 at Farmers Insurance in Fort Bragg, 153 N Main St. Cost is $85 per player, $10 off registration for a sibling. Climate Change Committee
The Mendocino County Climate Action Advisory Committee will meet on January 21st. The session starts at 3 p.m. It is public domain and comments are welcome. MCCAAC meetings are currently online via Zoom. The meeting invitation and agenda will be posted on the Mendocino County website a few days prior to the meeting date. The Fort Bragg Food Bank
Each week, the Fort Bragg Food Bank Farm Stand is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and until 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The yard is open to everyone. In addition, children’s bags are picked up five days a week with the once-weekly pick-up at the distribution. You are at 910 North Franklin Street.
