Linda D. Burkholder, 72, of Scottdale, died on her 72nd birthday Thursday, November 11, 2021 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. She was born on November 11, 1949 in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late James Layman and Sarah Glover. Linda was a member of the Mendon Baptist Church in Ruffsdale. Linda loved spending time with her family.
“Remember me with smiles and laughter,
Because that’s how I will remember you.
If you can only remember me with tears
Then don’t remember me at all “.
Linda leaves behind a son, Edward Chapman of Scottdale; a daughter, Sara Guess and husband Justin of Scottdale; Grandson, Christine Shaw and husband Brian from Connellsville, Dylan Chapman from Georgia, Joshua Lucot from Youngwood, Lily, Abby and Zachary Guess from Scottdale; Great-grandchildren, RyanLee Shaw, Carter Rose Lucot, and Skylar Lucot; a brother, James Layman and his wife Cami from Texas; two sisters, Pam Lopes of Everson and Rena Martray of West Virginia, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda had previously died from her husband, Larry Burkholder Jr.; and two sisters, Wanda J. Eicher and Tammy Layman. Linda’s family would like to thank Amy, Pam, and Nikki (with the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center) for their care and compassion. Friends will be welcomed at VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S.
