Nairobi – Here is the mourning program for former President Mwai Kibaki at Nyayo Stadium.
9:00 am: The solemn procession departs from State House to Nyayo National Stadium.
10:10 am: Arrival of Ambassadors and High Commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Justices, Members of the National Assembly, Senators, District Governors, Cabinet, Supreme Court Justices, Heads of Government and Vice President.
10:20 am Arrival of visiting Heads of State and Government.
10:30 am: Arrival of President Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenyan Armed Forces, accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta. The National anthem. The EAC anthem.
10:45 am: The state reception of former President Mwai Kibaki’s funeral procession. Honor Guard (troops-in-line). Procession to the altar. Head of State, CDF, VCDF and Svc Comds witness the assembly of the coffin on the catafalque. Paying respects by visiting heads of state.
11 a.m.: The state funeral service. Requiem Mass celebrating the life of President Mwai Kibaki, celebrated by His Grace Arch. Bishop Philip Anyolo assisted by His Grace Arch. Bishop Martin Ithuva.
1 p.m.: Honors.
2:00 pm: Late President Mwai Kibaki’s entourage withdraws. The National anthem.
2:10 p.m.: The President exits Nyayo National Stadium, followed by other visiting leaders.
