Joplin, Mo. — Those of you who wish to pay your respects to Joplin Police Department Corporal Ben Cooper on Tuesday (03/15) have several ways to do so.
One of them watches the funeral procession pass by.
On the map above, we’ve highlighted the designated section of Joplin where the public can safely see the procession.

This location will extend along Main Street, beginning at 3rd Street downtown where the old Joplin Library building is located, and then ending south at 19th Street, one block north of Walgreens.
If you wish to support the Cooper family or law enforcement in general, the City of Joplin encourages you to attend the public viewing of the procession, which runs along Main Street, between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m

City officials say expect brief traffic delays in and around Joplin from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday (March 15) and should allow a little extra time to get to work or another destination within the city to get .
Both JPD Corporal Ben Cooper and JPD Officer Jake Reed were on duty when they were fatally shot during a disturbance call last Tuesday (March 8).
Joplin officials say they will release the details of Officer Jake Reed’s funeral service in the coming days.
