Graham Walmsley’s memorial service is tomorrow

FRIENDS and colleagues will line the streets to pay their respects to a popular and respected Bolton College union leader and official who died at the age of 57.

Graham Walmsley’s funeral will be held tomorrow at Overdale Crematorium, West Chapel.

Mr. Walmsley, who lived in Heaton with his family, served as Branch Chairman of Bolton Unison and was the Examination Administrator at Bolton College.

He died suddenly on June 6th.

Andrea Egan recognized him as Unison Branch Secretary and described him as “one of the best”.

She said, “He was a really lovely man, our movement has lost one of the best.

“Graham will be very missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Graham’s family. ”

The train will leave the family home in Heaton at around 1:15 p.m. It passes the front of Bolton College on Deane Road for its work colleagues to pay their respects.

The comrades of Mr. Walmsley Unison and Bolton Trade Council line up in front of Overdale with their branch banners.

Attendees of the service are asked not to wear formal black clothing, but rather concert t-shirts, soccer jerseys – but not Manchester United – jeans, trainers and a black dress.

Those who wish can donate to the intensive care unit at Royal Bolton Hospital on Mr. Walmsley’s behalf through the Season’s Funeral Service.
