Funeral procession through Lee County, serving FHP Trooper who died of COVID-19


The Florida Highway Patrol honors the life of trooper Brian J. Pingry with a funeral procession on Friday morning.

Pingry, a seven-year FHP veteran and a Lee County resident, died Sunday of COVID-19 complications. The procession begins at 8:15 am at Gendron Funeral Home on 2701 Lee Boulevard in Lehigh Acres and ends at Next Level Church on 11081 Gateway Boulevard in Fort Myers.

The processional route begins in the western lanes of Lee Boulevard to Gunnery Road, continues south on Gunnery Road to Daniels Parkway, and from there turns right onto Gateway Boulevard, where it ends at Next Level Church. Short traffic delays are to be expected.

  • WB Lee Boulevard to Gunnery Road (turn left) * Estimated departure 8:15 am
  • SB Gunnery Road to Daniels Parkway (straight ahead) * Approximately 8:20 am
  • WB Daniels Parkway to Gateway Boulevard (turn right) * Approximately 8:25 am
  • NB Gateway Boulevard to Next Level Church – East (turn right) * Approximately 8:30 am
