Elizabeth “Betty” Ann (Dobens) Pelletier, 91, of Fayetteville, GA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 27 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital after a short period of failing health.
Betty was born on December 23, 1930 in Nashua to Leona C. (Lafontaine) and Frederick H. Dobens. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1949 and then attended Keene State College. Betty married Joe Pelletier in 1951 and they went on to raise two children together, Kim and Marc. Betty and Joe lived most of their adult lives in Nashua.
Betty was a kind, thoughtful and generous woman. Friendly and energetic well into her 90s, Betty loved spending time with her family and friends. She was always up for a good time and had an endearing sense of humor. An unforgettable and impressive woman, Betty was often complimented on her gorgeous hair. From a young age she enjoyed going to the beach, travelling, reading, knitting and playing cards.
Betty passed away from her parents; beloved husband of 57 years, Fernand J. “Joe” pelletizers; son Marc D. Pelletier; brother Raymond R. Dobens; sister and brother-in-law Barbara P. and Raymond E. Michaud; and son-in-law Anthony “Tony” J. Giovannitti.
Survivors include her daughter Kim Pelletier of Fayetteville, GA; grandson Joe Chrisman and great-granddaughter Ayvah Chrisman of Nashua; sister-in-law, Joy Webster, of Holderness; step-grandson Gabe Giovannitti of Hattiesburg, MS; step-granddaughter Christin Giovannitti Kotula and step-great-granddaughter Ellie Johnson Kotula of Ocean Springs, MS; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Marcia Poynter and Rachel Lindsay of Fayetteville, GA.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 10:00 am at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 152 Antioch Road, Fayetteville, GA. Internment will take place in NH at a later date.
