March 25, 1940 – November 20, 2021
Elisabeth Isbill died quietly in the early morning hours of November 20th with her two sons Tom and Steve and daughter Ute at her side. Liz was born on March 25, 1940 in Bayreuth.
She met her 53-year-old future husband Tom in Landshut. They married in 1963. They were stationed at Fort Ord and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and settled in Salinas after Tom retired. Her family meant everything to her. She loved to go out to eat. She was a bundle of energy and secretly made everyone who knew her lazy. She never shied away from her responsibilities and always focused on what needed to be done. She enjoyed spending the summer vacation at Bass Lake for at least 40 years. She recently met her 2nd great-grandchild and loved her grandchildren. She had a debilitating stroke in 2018, partially recovered, and succumbed to heart failure and COPD. She enjoyed Gunsmoke and the Food Network.
The family thanks the carers Florian and Benito, who took great care of them. She is now at peace, leaving behind daughter Ute Williams, son Thomas (Michelle) Isbill, son Stephen Isbill, grandsons Amanda (Matt) Weigand and Tyler Isbill, and great-grandsons Bryce and Bailey Weigand.
She is interred in the Fort Ord VA Cemetery with Private Family Service.
Funeral arrangements from Struve and Laporte Funeral Home.
