Cornwall Funeral Services welcomed four new company directors to its family-run Redruth Funeral Home in early August.
Founding Director Scott Watters has welcomed son Matt Watters, partner – and mother of three of his daughters – Laurena Warner, and longtime friends Nick Long and Morgan Court into the role.
Watters said, “We have always considered CFS (Cornwall Funeral Services) family and so many of our wider team refer to themselves as members of the CFS family, but now they come to work and sit across from my son, with the others.” that are so important to me, coming to the office is wonderful.
âThere is not a day that I don’t look forward to coming to work because even though so many days have been so sad, knowing that we are totally united in supporting our families brings so much confidence and satisfaction . “
The news comes after Watters was also named Employee of the Year for the South by the UK’s prepaid funeral service provider Golden Charter for “outstanding contributions” to the industry at the annual Independent Funeral Director Business Awards.
Suzanne Grahame, CEO of Golden Charter, said: âOver the past year, independent funeral directors across the UK have faced incredible challenges of resilience and commitment. We are pleased to recognize Cornwall Funeral Services’ Matt Watters with the South Region Employee of the Year award.
âPlanning ahead gives families confidence in difficult times and we pride ourselves on partnering with exemplary independent funeral directors across the UK to make this difficult time a little easier. Funeral directors are facing ongoing challenges due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic yet to come, which makes it all the more important to highlight the key forces that really go beyond that. “
