Battle Ground Bricks and Banners program deadline is March 1st

BATTLE GROUND – The city’s Battle Ground Bricks and Banners program is fast approaching its deadline. The program allows those wishing to honor and recognize an individual’s military service to purchase either a memorial stone or military banner.

The bricks will be installed at the Veterans Memorial and banners will be displayed on Main Street. The stones and banners are available until March 1st.

Each personalized memorial honors a US veteran and features their name, branch of service, and service dates. The bricks are engraved and installed in time for Memorial Day each year. The cost of a personalized stone is $250. Proceeds from the sale support the ongoing maintenance of the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial.

Military Banners can be purchased to honor veterans, active-duty personnel, and those entering the military with a duty of service. Each individual banner includes the person’s photo, name, branch of service, rank, and years of service. The city will set up and display banners along Main Street during the month of May, Military Appreciation Month, through the third week of June. The cost of a custom banner is $150.
