B. Gary Jensen obituary – The Columbus Dispatch

B. Gary Jensen, 82, played his final round in the game of life on June 29, 2022 in Naples, Florida, where he has lived permanently with his wife Susan for 11 years. Gary thoroughly enjoyed his many years in Florida, but his heart was always with Columbus, Ohio, where he was born on June 14, Flag Day, 1940. As a young man, Gary worked as a caddy at Columbus Country Club, watching and learning the game of golf and etiquette. He also developed his own skill and timing with the golf club, particularly with his short irons. Gary was on the East High School golf team during his Freshman & Sophomore years and then attended the new Eastmoor High School, where he was a senior in 1957. He attended Ohio State University and became a lifelong Buckeye fan himself. He served in a variety of roles at Franklin International, originally Franklin Glue Company, for over 30 years. The next step in his career was to set up his own manufacturer agency, The Jensen Sales Group. His team of six salespeople sold products for small manufacturers or helped launch new products; One of them, Timbertech, is now a well-known national brand. As a young man, Gary played at many golf events in the Columbus area. He later enjoyed playing in various country clubs including Walnut Hill CC, Groveport CC and was one of the founding members of Jefferson CC. He enjoyed the completion and won many events. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Marjorie Jensen, and by his brother and wife, Richard and Shirley Jensen. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Susan, with whom he was 47 years old. His brothers and sisters-in-law Rob and Marilyn Moorehead in Senecaville, Oh and Paul and Marie Moorehead in Naples, Florida. Also many nieces and nephews. No memorial service is planned for Gary at this time, but just think of him when you’re watching a sporting event, he’s enjoyed them all or hit that short shot on the green. In memory of Gary’s life, a gift can be made in his name to a charity of your choice or to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
